The open source Nau Engine and ITMO University announce a strategic partnership aimed at integrating Nau Engine into the university's programs and developing educational content using it.

The Nau Engine team plans to work with the faculty of ITMO School of Game Development to create programs that use and test the new game engine. These programs will be available as stand-alone educational courses. The interaction between developers, teachers, and students will not only refine the educational content, but also generate guidelines for integrating the new engine into curricula of other universities and preparing teachers to conduct relevant courses. University students will have the opportunity to become early adopters and gain in-depth familiarity with all aspects of the engine, making them more competitive in the job market.

"ITMO always responds to market demands. Those who pioneer new tools set industry trends. The combination of leading industry experts, talented faculty and students ensures a high demand for our graduates. We also look for partners who share similar values and a strategic vision for development. In the case of Nau Engine, we see maximum synergy," said Daria Kozlova, First Vice Rector of ITMO.

From June to September this year, the Nau Engine team received more than 8,000 applications from developers interested in participating in the beta testing of the engine. Developed under open source principles, Nau Engine features a powerful core with an easy-to-use editor and is accessible to developers of all skill levels. The engine also facilitates the rapid creation of game projects, provides users with tools for integration with game platforms and popular services, and enables the creation of content updates, seasons, communities, leaderboards, and other metasystems.

"The Nau Engine team is made up of developers who are just like those who will be using the engine in the field. We understand the importance of not only creating an engine, but also making it user-friendly and accessible. The training of specialists, the availability of materials, and their adaptability to developers with different levels of expertise are crucial in this regard. ITMO, on the other hand, is one of the leading universities in the training of IT specialists, so we believe that our cooperation will be highly productive," said Alexander Myasishchev, CEO @ Nau Engine.

The partnership between ITMO and Nau Engine is an extension of ITMO's educational initiatives related to the games industry. This year, ITMO launched a bachelor's degree program in Computer Game Development Technologies to complement its existing master's degree program. Together, these programs provide a comprehensive education cycle for individuals who not only possess basic knowledge, but are also prepared to create competitive products for the gaming market. All opportunities for education and support of students pursuing a career in game development are consolidated within ITMO School of Game Development.

In February this year the development of a Russian game engine was announced. An independent team of development experts and representatives of the game community is leading the engine's creation. The project aims to involve at least 100 specialists in its implementation, including programmers, technical writers, technical artists, and experts in various fields.
