The Nau Engine development team has shared the technical specifications of the engine. They plan to support both C++ and C# for writing project business logic. However, the development team doesn’t intend to limit themselves to just these two languages. Having a simple scripting language within the engine (one that doesn’t require deep programming knowledge) will significantly simplify the game creation process. Additionally, Nau Engine will include visual programming tools and zero-coding capabilities.
"We aim to make Nau Engine as accessible as possible for every developer. When choosing scripting languages, we approached this, and developers find it easier to transition to our engine and migrate their projects. For game designers, there will also be a simple scripting language available, allowing them to complete various tasks without the need for additional assistance from colleagues," commented Alexander Myasishchev, the head of Nau Engine development.
Nau Engine will be designed to support multiple operating systems, including Linux, both for building projects and for a developers' independent work. The engine team also plans to support web projects, as well as offering support for mobile platforms and consoles.
"Nau Engine will be available in the programming environment that developers are accustomed to – it will support all the popular operating systems, including Linux. Additionally, projects created with Nau Engine will be available on all gaming platforms. We also believe in web platforms as a distribution point for games in the future and are doing everything possible to ensure that our engine enables developers to create products, including web-based options," added Alexander.
Nau Engine will take into account all the modern industry standards and strive to fully support them. There are also plans to support all popular graphics APIs such as DirectX12, Vulkan, Metal, as well as graphics technologies like Ray Tracing and DLSS. Additionally, Nau Engine will provide the capability to apply neural networks to solve various technological tasks.

Looking at the advancements in modern neural networks, we see tremendous potential in their application to solve many pressing tasks. We’re working to ensure that Nau Engine supports the application of neural networks in tasks where this functionality will yield significant results," voiced Alexander Myasishchev.
Currently, the engine is in the initial stage of development. Engine testing is not yet available as the process of collecting applications from developers is underway. It is planned that by the end of the year, an alpha version of the product will be released for closed testing.
